A festival pack that is not just colouring

Most festival printables are a picture to colour and little else. These packs carry the same tracing, pattern and counting work as the rest of the library, themed to the day — so a child spending an afternoon on Diwali sheets is also practising symmetry, handwriting and numbers.

Rangoli and kolam as real pattern work

Rangoli is a grid of dots joined by lines, which makes it genuinely teachable on paper and a proper symmetry exercise. Half the pattern is printed and the child completes the mirror image. It is the part of Diwali and Pongal a small child can actually take part in.

Timing matters more here than anywhere else

A Diwali pack is worth printing in October and useless in December. Each festival has its own page with the pack, what is in it, and an explanation of the festival for the adult who has to answer questions while the child works.
